Thanks for the comments everyone.

At this location (Esquimalt Lagoon) duck flight photography was REALLY good. Key word there is "was". For the past 15 years a very nice and generous lady has been feeding the waterfowl on a daily basis. Her feed bill must have been $1000+ per month. It was great when she showed up as all the ducks, geese and swans would come flying in, and then fly out after the feeding was done. You would have Buffleheads, Common Goldenye, Pintails, Wigeons, Scaups, etc. all within minimum focus distance. The federal fisheries have told her she has to stop the feedling immediately . . . . kind of like when the Town of Homer told the Eagle Lady she had to stop feeding the eagles. We'll have to see what happens this, and following years, now that she is not feeding. My gut feeling is that shots like this may become much more difficult in the future at this location
